Designer Polly Ho graduated from School of Design, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, going on to study at the University of Central England. A trip to Guangzhou, she discovered a heritage fabric called Canton silk which is an intangible cultural heritage of China, thus she quit her job and launching her own brand, Loom Loop in 2013, she acted as a fashion consultant for a number of China brands. Loom Loop’s first collection was launched in spring/summer 2014. She is a real advocate in the slow fashion movement, heritage, sustainability, and east meets west are the ingredients that underpin the brand. By her second collection, she was scouted by the global CEO of the South Beach hotel in Singapore built by Norman Foster and designed by Philippe Starck, this golden opportunity landed her a sizable corporate project and put her brand beyond Hong Kong. Since then, she has gone on to win SME’s Youth Entrepreneurship Award 2015, Design for Asia Award 2015 & 2016 — Category Award (Bronze), Perspective 40 under 40 Award for Fashion Design 2016, and RITAHK award for Retailer of the Year for Small Business 2016, A’ Design Award 2017(Silver), German Design Award 2018, Distinction. She has presented catwalk show at Tokyo Fashion Week in 2015, 2016, 2017. She also presented catwalk shows at the official New York Fashion Week 2016 and 2017.
